18th July using moderate despatch and on arrival to place herself under orders of Comandor-in-Chief, China.
Situation at Canton is such that there is a possibility of SHAMKEN and river gunboats being isolated, of HERMES will be required to assist in keeping open
sommariostion and must be prepared if necessary to operate against Chinese troops and forts and possibly
against aircraft.
Arrangements are being made for fuel at Aden, Trinoamall
and Singapore,
